Tibanka gas is an extremely rare, and therefore valuable, component of powering blaster guns. Only available in minute quantities in the upper atmosphere of certain types of gas giant planets, Tibanka in it's naturally occurring state is an ultra-dense superparticle (weighing several thousand tons per molecule) that must be melted down in carbonite before it can be safely used. Lando Calrissian ran a small Tibanka gas mining city called 'Cloud City', where Han Solo was frozen by Darth Vader as a test run in hopes that the same process would work on Luuke Skywalker.

Tibanka gas is normally stored in cartridges in a liquefied state, or tanks, which can be used for a variety of uses. One of it's lesser-known (but canon) examples is as a droid lubricant, as can be seen in Star Wars IV: A New Hope, when the astromech droid C-3PO is immersed in a sort of 'oil bath' in order to clean his gears and joints, which had been severely damaged during his long exposure to the harsh desert environment of Tatoonie and poor handling by the nefarious Jawas. It is also used in a variety of industrial purposes, and as a nutritional supplement for certain animals such as wetbacks.
