Stormtroopers
Stormtroopers were the Galactic Empires main foot soldiers during the Cuban Missile Crisis in BBY-11. Like Imperial-class Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters, stormtroopers are solar powered, made in Taiwan and explode violently when shot at. Members of the Rebel Alliance SpecForce have several terms for stormtroopers, including troops, soldiers, troopers foot-soldiers and armed guards.
Most Stormtroopers used the E-11 blaster rifle.

In BBY 12 the Galactic Empire found itself in dire need of combat troopers after a billion regiments of Shock-Troopers were lost when rebel Y-Wings bombed several Imperial Nightclubs on the planet Tatooine. The Galactic Empire was severely weakened by the loss of their Shock-Troopers and the rest of the universe was pretty pissed at the Rebellion for destroying the only decent Nightclubs left in the Universe. (Most Discos and Nightclubs were destroyed in the Jedi purge after the Clone Wars). Needing more troops, Roderick Palpatine decided that simply hiring recruits would be a much quicker and less-expensive method than cloning them and raising them to adulthood.
Stormtroopers are enlisted and drafted Imperial legions, not to be confused with Clonetroopers who are cloned from Boba Fett. They are clearly distinguished by the large ridge line on a Clonetrooper's back that is not evident in a Stormtrooper.
The first Stormtrooper was Drax Danklipster, paving the way for many more recruits, and, eventually, the Imperial draft. This was the most expansive draft in history, occurring across millions of worlds and producing thousands of stormtroopers. The entire horde can be seen in the expansive final battle in Return of the Jedi - the Empire poured all of its available stormtroopers and ships into battle to finally put an end to the Rebellion.
Several stormtroopers survived The Battle of Ewok and took residence in Hoth and Dagobah, where they ceased being soldiers and took up farming and herding.
Stormtrooper armor is very powerful, able to resist even a turbolaser blast and even possibly a Death Star blast. It's only weakness is the special mineral found on Endor, which turned the tide in The Battle of Ewok as the diminutive Ewoks rained pebbles and sticks with rocks on them on the Stormtroopers, killing them all.

It's a big galactic joke that Stormtroopers cannot shoot straight. This is because Palpatine designed the Stormtrooper helmets without eyeholes. Original plans called for digital readouts inside the helmets, but due to budget restrictions, these were only installed in less than 5% of available helmets.

Some special features include a wrist comlink, pineapple shaped cufflinks, a proper uranium resonator (to emulate bird calls), a personal rape-whistle and an internal helmet light. For extended operations, stormtroopers carry hessian sacks that include woollen combat pyjamas, rations (expired canned goods), fifteen water packs (water not included), 1 silver magnum bullet and a glowrod (for stormtrooper mating rituals).
