Akira Kurosawa sued George Lucas after it was discovered that Lucas had plagiarized parts of his script for The Hidden Fortress while writing Star Wars. Kurosawa dropped the suit after the film was screened for him and he determined that no one would ever go to see it. Later, in 1999, Lucas would counter-sue Kurosawa for plagiarizing Star Wars 6: Revenge of the Jedi in making his movie Kagemusha.
