- "I have something here for you. Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it. He feared you might follow old Obi-Wan on some damn fool idealistic crusade like your father did."
- "What is it?"
- "Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. This saber was on your father's belt when he was shot down over Dantooine. He was captured, put in a Separatist prison camp. He knew if General Grievous ever saw the saber it'd be confiscated, taken away. The way your father looked at it, this lightsaber was your birthright. He'd be damned if any droids were gonna put their greasy metal hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this saber up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the saber. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the lightsaber to you."
- Obi-wan as played by Christopher Walken in the Broadway Adaptation of Star Wars
Ben "OB1" Kenobi, real name no gimmicks, was a droid created in order to fight the Empire. Built from Mandalorian Steel, OB1 was the most powerful droid in the galaxy. He was also well known as the most lifelike droid in the galaxy, at least until he was deactivated by Darth "Johnny" Vader in a lightsaber fight. He was then viewed as the most lifeless like droid in the galaxy. It is believed that he allowed himself to be destroyed due to faulty logic, and the belief that he would become even stronger afterwards. He was quite clearly wrong.
[edit] Trivia

- OB1 was a master in the ancient Jedi art of bullshitting.
- OB1's name was inspired by Obi Trice. George Lucas has repeatedly said that Alec Guiness was his third choice for the role.
- And that, ladies, is what we call the "Smuged Obi."
