Jedi in the Woods is a famous fan-made Star Wars film genre about Jedi fighting other Jedi and bounty hunters in the woods.

[edit] History

The Jedi in the Woods genre traces its origins to the 1983 film Star Wars 6: Revenge of the Jedi, which was mostly filmed in George Lucas's own back yard. Fans of the prolific Star Wars film series felt an obligation to their other friends in the fandom to create their own continuations of the series. However, because of the lack of wide-spread green screen technology, these intrepid fans also opted to film their masterworks in the woods behind their own houses. Over the years, 1,547 Jedi in the Woods films have made their way onto the internet, with another estimated fifty-thousand having been filmed but not released to the public.
