A bounty hunter. Greedo's final bounty was the capture or killing of Han Solo. Due to the fact that Solo was wanted by Jabba The Hut "Dead or Alive" Greedo's orders were to shoot first and ask questions later. After a brief confrontation Greedo attempted to kill Solo, but Solo evaded the shot and was able to kill Greedo in self defense. If he had lived, he would have been fired.

Greedo's original name was slated as "Greedy" in the first draft of Star Wars, but George Lucas changed it for fear of infringing on the short lived character in the prequel to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, entitled: "Snow White and the Eight Dwarves: Grumpy has a Horrible Fell Look!"
In the Original Star Wars release, Greedo shot at Han 3 times, but Han dodged the shots. In the re-edited version, Greedo only shoots once, causing a large outcry from the fans who began the phrase "Han shot fourth!"
