Darth Tyrannosaurus

Count Dooku (not to be confused with Viscount Dooku or Duke Dooku), better known by his Sith name "Darth Tyrannosaurus," was a powerful Sith Lord during the Clone Wars.

History

Count Dooku was once a respected Jedi Knight, trained by Yoda himself, but he looked back longingly at the life he left behind. On his planet, he was landed aristocracy, but as a Jedi Knight he was only a poor monk. So he renounced his Jedi-hood, and left to reclaim what was rightfully his.

When he returned to his home planet, he was greeted by a horse-drawn carriage driven by a diminutive, shriveled man who hissed as he spoke. The driver told Dooku that his father awaited him in the tall castle ontop of Devil's Mountain, and took the young Dooku there. When he arrived, he was instantly greeted by his father and a feast was held in his honor. Little did Dooku know, his cup was filled with a sleeping potion that knocked him out cold. Dooku would awake to find himself sleeping in a casket in the dungeon of his father's castle. He was greeted by his father, who informed the young man of his true heritage: Dooku was a vampire! Enraged, Dooku took his lightsaber and lopped off his father's head - one of the few ways to actually kill a vampire.

Dooku, now turned completely evil by the vampire blood that ran through his veins, turned to the Dark Side, naming himself "Darth Tyrannus." He used his extensive resources to fund the Trade Federation and their droid army before being elected CEO of the massive super-conglomerate.

Dooku bided his time, training a secret apprentice named Dark Maul to kill Qui-gon Jinn, the only Jedi who knew of his terrible secret. He also hired Jango Fett to be the the template of the Grand Army of the Republic, and secretly perpetrated the Clone Wars in order to feast on the blood of a million Jangos.

Before his apprentice could kill Qui-gon, however, the Jedi had told Yoda of Dooku's nefarious nature. It took ten years to track him down. Yoda along with Anakin Skywalker and Ben "OB1" Kenobi sought out his former apprentice in order to end his reign of terror. Yoda found him in the highest spire of Dooku's castle. Their duel was epic, with neither side gaining the upperhand, despite Yoda's incredible aerial acrobatics. One onlooker described the scene as "all Yoda versus Count Dracula in there." Dooku escaped, but not before cutting off Anakin's hand and draining the blood from it. A furious Anakin would seek revenge himself.

Another three years would pass before Anakin found the sleeping Count lying in his casket. Anakin drew his saber as well as well as Dooku's down, and cut off Dooku's head to kill the vampire - and cut off his hands out of sheer pettiness. He, however, let Grand Hoff Tarkin take some credit for killing Dooku, because Tarkin lead Anakin to Dooku's secret chambers. With the death of their CEO, the Trade Federation surrendered to the Clones, who proceeded to kill the other executive officers of the Federation out of sheer pettiness.

Powers and Abilities

Like all Jedi, Dooku had extensive knowledge of the Force, but unlike most Jedi, he also had the ability to turn into a bat. Dooku was normally not active during the daytime because direct sunlight could kill him. At night, he feasted on the blood of the innocent as his main source of substinence. Dooku believed that he could gain the strength of the mighty Jango Fett if only he could drink his blood. He could only do this once however, so he concocted a plan in which he could clone an army of Jango Fetts in order to feast on their blood. The only way he could be killed was to either remove his head or drive a stake through his heart.
